Product Description TDS stands for "Total Dissolved Solid", meaning total dissolved solids. Total dissolved solids refer to the general term for inorganic salts and organic substances dissolved in water. Its main components include calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium ions, carbonate ions, bicarbonate ions, chloride ions, sulfate ions, nitrate ions, etc. Therefore, the TDS meter is an instrument for testing total dissolved solids. The unit of the TDS meter is ppm (i.e. mg/L). Its reading is defined as a proportional conductivity value, generally around 0.7. The reference temperature for automatic temperature compensation of the TDS meter is usually 25°C, and the temperature coefficient is generally 2%/°C. This instrument is waterproof with IP55 waterproof rating. It also features temperature display. The temperature reading can be switched between Celsius and Fahrenheit by pressing the button.
